Winter Menu White Pairings
2015 VINUM CELLARS ‘WHITE ELEPHANT’ CHENIN BLANC, ROUSSANNE, VIOGNIER, CA Light straw color with beautiful tropical aromas of mango, guava and passion fruit. These carry forward into the palate and with it comes superior acidity from the core base of Chenin Blanc, which shows exquisite citrus such as meyer lemon and key lime. The finish is long and generous with peach, apricot, pear grit and honey comb with excellent minerality. The way it brings out the flavors of our BLACK BEAN BURGER makes for a delicious pairing. 2016 LEITZ RIESLING, RHEINGAU, GERMANY This Riesling from Josef Leitz is a wine of incredible balance, complex flavor and shimmering minerality. Ripe aromas of stone fruits abound with good acidity and a nice finish. No other wine pairs better than this with our CHIPOTLE CHICKEN SANDWICH 2016 CHATEAU MONCONTOUR VOUVRAY, FRANCE From old vines, up to 45-year s-old, the wine is attractively off dry, retaining plenty of acidity as well as gaining touches of honey and creamed apples. The wine is light while deliciously fruity. We LOVED this wine paired with our HOUSEMADE HOT HAM & CHEESE & FREE-RANGE TURKEY 2016 PRATSCH GRUNER VELTLINER, AUSTRIA Fruity & acidic with flavors of apple, white peach, & citrus. This wine tasted phenomenal with our PEAR & FIG SALAD 2017 WHITE HAVEN SAUV. BLANC, NEW ZEALAND This wine offers fragrant aromas of gooseberry, greengage plums, and tropical fruit. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with bright, fragrant apple, white peach, & citrus. The way it brings out the flavors of our LIGHT MARKET FISH & CRISPY HERB MARKET FISH is a match made in heaven. |

2017 BOEKENHOUTSKLOOF ‘THE CHOCOLATE BLOCK’ SYRAH, CABERNET SAUV., GRENACHE, CINSAULT, VIOGNIER, SOUTH AFRICA Savory & delicious with its blackberry, dark chocolate & smoky cedarbrush flavors. It's savoury, complex & delicious with hints of cassis, blackberry and cedar forest. Extremely juicy and mouth-watering in a food-happy kind of way. Balanced and delicious, this wine always tastes great with our CLASSIC CHEESEBURGER. 2015 KENDALL JACKSON ‘VINTNER’S RESERVE’ SYRAH, CA Richly layered with flavors of plum, blackberry, cola and just the right amount of spice. We adored this lovely wine with our BRAISED BEEF AU JUS. 2016 EARTHQUAKE, ZINFANDEL, LODI, CA This red will tantalize your taste buds with attractive berry fruit up front, and finishes with a hint of licorice and spice. This fruit-forward red is AWESOME with our GRILLED PORTOBELLO SANDWICH. 2017 J. LOHR ‘SEVEN OAKS,' CABERNET SAUVIGNON, PASO ROBLES, CA Robust aromas of cherry, sweet oak and mint. CAPOSALDO PROSECCO D.O.C. BRUT, ITALY This elegant, brut-style wine has pleasant acidity and freshness with fruity aroma of citrus, green apple and acacia blossoms. Gentle Reds
2016 APHAEA, RED BLEND, STELLENBOSCH, SOUTH AFRICA Ripe, dense, blackberry, with notes of chocolate, rich raspberry and bursts of wild strawberry. 2017 RON RUBIN ‘RUSSIAN RIVER’, PINOT NOIR, CA Bright cherry, cranberry, and raspberry aromas with hints of dill, fennel, and spice. The bouquet is rounded out with sweet vanilla and berry flavors, with a balanced and elegant finish. 2016 TRIVENTO, MALBEC, ARGENTINA, A bright red whose plum and raspberry jam aroma mingle elegantly with vanilla notes from the six months aged in French oak barrels. Well, balanced, exhibits sweet tannins and a velvety finish.
