Once signed up, you start earning points with almost every purchase made at the restaurant. These points are recorded through a phone number, email address, &/or credit card linked to your loyalty account. Once you have earned enough points, you can redeem them for rewards!

Signing Up @ the Restaurant
Our dine-in guests can enroll in our loyalty program by providing their email address or phone number at the point of purchase.
Additionally, Staff members can enroll guests in the loyalty program on closed checks. Guests will sign up for a loyalty account by writing their email or phone number on a printed receipt. Staff members can then take those receipts and enter the information into the POS on a closed check.
**Tip** This is a great way to add another card to your Loyalty account, as well. If a loyalty account already exists for the email or phone number entered, you will earn reward points towards your existing account and the new card will be linked. If a loyalty account does not exist, a new account will be created with the information entered.
Signing Up Through Toast Online Ordering
A guest can also sign up for loyalty through our Online Ordering platform. If the guest is not signed into an Online Ordering account, after completing their online order they will receive a prompt asking them to sign up for both an online ordering and a loyalty account with the email entered on the checkout page. If a guest is already signed into an Online Ordering account, but has not signed up for loyalty, they will be prompted to join the loyalty program.
Signing Up Through Toast TakeOut
Guest can sign up for loyalty through the Toast TakeOut app. Upon checkout, a checkbox will appear on the app that guests can uncheck if they do not wish to enroll in your loyalty program.
Signing Up Through the Online Signup Page

Additionally, on the signup page, there is a link to look up an existing account if guests have lost their loyalty account information and want the information sent to them.
Upon enrolling, Toast will send an email or text message to you which contains information about the loyalty program, a link to your unique Digital Loyalty Card and a points balance summary.
Digital Loyalty Card
Guests will receive a link to their Digital Loyalty Card which will have information about the program and about their loyalty account such as the number of points they have earned so far and a list of their recent activity.
Guests can access their Digital Loyalty Card directly from the Toast TakeOut app when viewing a restaurant.
Note: A guest's TakeOut account must have the same email or phone number as their loyalty account for the Digital Loyalty Card to be accessed.
Included in the Digital Loyalty Card:
- Guest's point balances and any rewards they have earned that are ready to redeem
- Information regarding all of the different ways guests can earn points
- Information on how your guests can redeem their points
- A list of all the credit cards attached to their account
- A list of their recent activity with the loyalty account
- A link to their QR code to scan to earn and redeem points
What do Guests Earn?
Guests will earn points for every dollar they spend. The amount of points they earn depends on what point structure the restaurant is following that day (keep an eye out for special double & triple points days!). Guests will earn points in a cumulative way -- meaning they will earn fractions of points for every cent spent on the point system.
For example, if the point structure is set up to earn 1 point per $15 spent, if a guest spends $10 in one visit, they will have earned 0.66 points towards their account. They do not need to spend the full $15 in one order to earn the point.
Points are only earned on pre-taxed, non-discounted amounts. Guests do not earn points on tips or taxes and some items may be exempt from the loyalty program such as gift cards and particular Special Events. When guests pay for an order in-store, online, or in the Toast TakeOut app with a credit card that has been linked to their loyalty account, they will automatically earn points for their order.
Loyalty Point Accrual Notifications & Redemption
When guests have the Toast TakeOut app installed and they are logged in to their account, they will receive a push notification when they make a payment on an order and earn points via the POS, Online Ordering, and Toast TakeOut. Note that if a guest uses different emails or accounts for Toast TakeOut and Toast Loyalty, push notifications will not show up for the guest as a result. If guests would like to disable push notifications for Toast TakeOut, they need to do so via their phone's settings.
There are a few ways guests can redeem points for rewards. Currently, rewards are given in the form of a cash discount off of their order.
When the guest pays for an order in-store with a credit card that has been linked to their loyalty account, if they have enough points for their reward, the Server will automatically be prompted to redeem their reward and will ask the guest if they would like to apply the awards at that time.
Note that when a guest decides to redeem their points, they are forced to redeem all rewards account points less than or equal to the total balance due on the check. They are not able to elect how many of their points are used.
Redeeming on Online Ordering
If a guest is signed into their Online Ordering account and has a loyalty account under the same email/phone number, they will be given the option to redeem their rewards before they submit their order.
Note that although guests can earn points online orders through guest checkout, they can only redeem if they are signed into an account.
If the guest has a reward available, they will be prompted to Redeem Now under the Rewards header. The reward then will be applied to their cart.
Note that Birthday rewards can only be redeemed by the guest in-store.
Redeeming on Toast TakeOut
If a guest is signed into their Toast TakeOut account, they will be given the option to redeem their rewards before they submit their order.
If they have a reward, they will be prompted to select Redeem next to the reward. Selecting to redeem will subtract the discount amount from their order total.
Note that Birthday rewards can only be redeemed by the guest in-store.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my Loyalty Account with Online Ordering?
Absolutely! When creating an Online Ordering account for the first time or accessing an existing Online Ordering Account, you will be able to sign up for the Loyalty program. Once you have signed up for rewards, you can begin collecting points for each order as well as redeem rewards for discounts on future orders in the restaurant or online!
Can a I use a Gift Card for the Loyalty program?
Yes, all cards in Toast can be dual function and contain BOTH cash balances and loyalty points. A Gift Card can be registered as a Loyalty Card. A Loyalty Card can have cash value added to it to be used as a Gift Card. The balances are stored separately within the system.
Does the Loyalty Account holder have to use a Gift Card when registering for the Loyalty program?
No, a physical card is not required to register, but providing an email address or phone number is required to register for the Loyalty program.
Does loyalty allow for one guest to use multiple credit cards, emails or phone numbers and accrue points in one loyalty profile?
Yes, multiple credit cards can be linked to a single Loyalty Account, but only 1 email or phone number and 1 customer profile can be used.
How can I unlink a credit card from a loyalty account?
Thyme Square Management are the only people able to modify existing accounts in this manner. You will need to give the name and email/phone number linked to the account, as well as, any new cards you wish to add. Modifications will be made within 3 business days.
Can a Thyme Square e-Gift card with zero balance be used as a loyalty card?
Yes, any Thyme Square gift card can be registered as a Loyalty Card.
Can I register for a Loyalty Account from my credit card receipt?
Yes, guests can register for loyalty accounts directly from the bottom of their credit card receipt. When the Server closes out your payment, they will have the option to sign you up for a Loyalty Account. It is very important that you write your name and email legibly as Thyme Square will not be held liable for incorrectly entering your information. To avoid this risk it is recommended that you set up your own account online.
When will a guest's Birthday Reward be added to their Rewards Account?
When a guest is eligible for a birthday reward, they will receive an email notifying them of their reward and to use their linked credit card in-store or to speak with a staff member. This reward is not automatically applied to their rewards account balance but instead is applied to their check as a discount when making a purchase in-store.
Will a guest accrue loyalty points from purchasing a gift card?
No, guests will not receive loyalty points from purchasing a gift card. They can however receive loyalty points when paying with that gift card if the items purchased are eligible for loyalty.
